Hello there. My name is Jenn (you may know me from my personal blog, Jenn.nu), and on November 18th, 2009, I had gastric bypass surgery. At my heaviest, I was 331 lbs. On the day of my surgery, I was 286 lbs. This blog has chronicled my journey from when I first made the decision to have weight loss surgery -- back in 2008 -- to when I had it -- 2009 -- and how my weight and life have changed since then.

First things first I love your Phillyish accent. You sound like me sometimes and I LOVE it. Do you say Esshole like a true Philly broad? LOL. Second, you are my inspiration to get back out there and lose weight. I have to lose I think forty pounds before they can do the lap bad surgery. I haven’t gone for my second consult because of my weird schedule but I am going soon. Now that I have insurance I know thats what I really want to do. I really don’t think the gastric is for me so I am opting for the realize band. I just really am not comfortable with how invasive the gastric is so that is why I am going the other route. They prefer someone with my bmi to get the gastric but I am firm on this so I have to lose some weight to get the surgery done so that’s my new challenge now. Once I get rolling on this I’ll prob have lots of questions. Do you mind if I ask you about them? Seeing how well you’ve done makes me feel like I can totally do it. I am mostly scared about the not eating food for a month pre op lol. You look amazing and keep going!
Jenn you are looking hot! And the muffin top thing, well that’s just a mom thing I think! But you’re right, you are small right under your bust and back of your waist. You are seriously my hero for losing so much. I’m not opposed to surgery, I’m not afraid of it, what concerns me is the cost. You hit the nail on the head for me when you said the surgery forced your hand into better habits, and I think it would be great for me. I don’t even know if they’d take me … I’m about 100 lbs less than your starting weight, and 30 more than you are now.
