Hello there. My name is Jenn (you may know me from my personal blog, Jenn.nu), and on November 18th, 2009, I had gastric bypass surgery. At my heaviest, I was 331 lbs. On the day of my surgery, I was 286 lbs. This blog has chronicled my journey from when I first made the decision to have weight loss surgery -- back in 2008 -- to when I had it -- 2009 -- and how my weight and life have changed since then.

My rings keep spinning around my fingers. It's annoying! 1 week ago
Jenn, you remind me so much of myself! I, too, would love to lose weight so I could ride on amusement park rides without worry. I went to Cedar Point about 40 pounds lighter than I am now and barely fit on most of the rides and did not fit on Millennium Force and had to take the walk of shame without getting to ride it. I just checked their website the other day and discovered that their ride size guidelines are I think it was 220 lbs or size 18 for a woman. So, you should be good to go for their. I think that park has the smallest sized cars, but it is the most awesome for roller coasters! Also, I think it would so nice to cross my legs like a lady!
Before your surgery, did vomiting really bother you, but now since you do it so often, it doesn’t? I hate vomiting, not that anyone likes it, but I really really hate it!
Do you feel like you had a food addiction before your surgery? I feel I have a serious food addiction. I think about my next meal all the time and I manipulate my husband into eating out often. I don’t know if having surgery would alleviate it or if it would make it worse. I know I would grieve the loss of my “best friend.”
Jen you are looking awesome! I am keeping up with you here and on Twitter. I am almost ready to schedule my surgery. I thought I was going to get lap band but now it looks like the gastric sleeve is a better fit for me. Anyway you look GREAT and you are such an encouragement. It is scary being on the before side of weight loss surgery and even though you are having some tough challenges like the vomit/stricture thing, which I hope you get solved soon, you are DOING IT! And it just sounds so close to me that you are 50-some pounds to goal. Ditto to Melissa, I cannot wait to be able to comfortably cross my legs again!!!
