Hello there. My name is Jenn (you may know me from my personal blog, Jenn.nu), and on November 18th, 2009, I had gastric bypass surgery. At my heaviest, I was 331 lbs. On the day of my surgery, I was 286 lbs. This blog has chronicled my journey from when I first made the decision to have weight loss surgery -- back in 2008 -- to when I had it -- 2009 -- and how my weight and life have changed since then.

Wow! I stumbled upon your blog via dan at sobitchin.org I am amazed! I thought it was just me who has been dealing with such weight issues. Just me who has thought about the lap/realize band. (I am so self centered) and here you are! You’ve already gone through it and you’re doing well. Thats fantastic. I hope it keeps up. I am a bit bigger than you were when you first began you’re journey. I think i am about 375… omg looking at that its like argh! what have i become?! You’re an inspiration to me. I really have always wanted to get the surgery since i have failed miserably at every diet ever known to man and eating via weight watchers just doesn’t work well for a lady like me. I had gone for the initial consultation for the lap band back in april and I found out I would have to go to the classes and what not for 6 months before I could go through the actual steps of having surgery. Well, in october I turned 22 and lost my health coverage. So no insurance= no surgery. So it sucks I couldn’t go through the steps to get my surgery! Hopefully I get insurance soon so I can go through the steps. Right now I know I have to get my weight down on my own before I get the band so Im working on that. But girl you are my hero! Good luck. Sorry for the long comment
